This is a client facing account executive role, building a loyal book of commercial clients based on pre-set targets and working closely with your regional Sales Director. As well as having access to the open market, you will have “the pen” with a major insurer and be able to make key underwriting decisions quickly to increase your new business win success. You will be backed up by a team of experienced account handlers and brokers at head office and by extremely effective insurer relationships and specialist schemes.
Applicants will ideally have some commercial underwriting experience and more crucially at least 1 year’s client facing sales experience based within a commercial insurance brokerage or a direct insurer. You will predominately be aiming at the SME market (premiums up to £100k), although our client has the capacity and expertise to handle larger more complex cases where necessary. As your account grows, your role will become less new business oriented and more focused client retention. You will be rewarded commission on retention as well as new business.
Our client is a major commercial brokerage with offices throughout the UK, although this is a home based role, to be treated like you are running your own business and allowing you greater flexibility and autonomy.
Initially a good basic salary will provided; along with generous car allowance and full benefits, although as your account grows the salary will decrease and the commission levels greatly enhanced. This puts you in the unique position of not being restricted on your personal income as you would be in a standard salaried role. Expected income for successful applicants will be circa £40k after year one, £50k year 2 and 3, nearer £60k year 3 and upwards of £60k as the book grows.
This opportunity also provides you with a lucrative exit strategy should you decide to leave in the future; you will secure a % of equity in your client portfolio as it grows which will provide you with an income for a significant number of years after you leave.
