A new and exciting opportunity has arisen within the Leeds Insurer market working for a specialist underwriting organisation that provide commercial insurance cover for property, liability and motor insurance protection. They offer a different perspective on commercial insurance; designing their processes around the brokers needs, whilst at the same time delivering financial security and stability to policyholders.
As a new business/trading underwriter, the main focus will be writing and converting profitable commercial risks presented to the team via your local intermediary panel. It is essential that you have the right attitude/pro active approach, where you will be targeted on developing your account within branch and therefore required to maximise all new business opportunities presented to you. Although this role is mainly an internal position, there will be the need to attend broker’s visits as and when required to discuss development plans with your clients and talk through certain individual risks.
To apply for this position, you will need to have been involved in a underwriting role previously and ideally have a minimum of 5 years commercial underwriting experience, preferably within a new business capacity. It is essential you have a good understanding of property and liability products in the main. Study towards ACii would be an advantage.
