Account Executive – Motor Trade Insurance – North Yorkshire / Hybrid
Posted: 16 April 2026
Job description
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly respected boutique insurance brokerage in the Harrogate area. They have experienced impressive growth year on year based on their dedication to being masters of their specific areas of expertise and continue to see an influx of quality enquiries incoming based on the excellent reviews that they receive.
This role is being created with succession planning in mind and will be a mix of client servicing and business development; you will inherit a loyal client portfolio, which will passed to you from a Senior Director who has exceeded capacity (this will give you some income stability). These will all be Motor Trade Combined clients located both locally and with some clients dotted around the UK. As well as servicing your clients, you will be looking to add new ones and to grow your book or if you have a loyal client following, you will be able to chase those clients once your restrictive covenent has expired.
You will have access to all insurer markets including composites, Lloyds of London and specialist scheme facilities, which are extremely competitive. You will be supported by an excellent team of account handlers and brokers at HQ.
In terms of salary, our client is in mind to offer a generous commission only structure with a high percentage based on book size, uncapped and which gives you 2 options; either grow a large book and earn a very high income or if you’re more work life balance oriented you could run a smaller book and work less hours or even part-time. There is the opportunity to have a guaranteed income for the first 12 months or so, whilst you build clients.
Ideal applicants will have previous experience in a client facing Account Executive position and be happy to specialise in Motor Trade combined insurances, either having previously worked this sector or have enough previous experience and a good all round general commercial insurance knowledge.
