Commercial Placement Broker – Harrogate / Hybrid

This is a fantastic new role with a very well respected commercial insurance brokerage. As a result of excellent growth, they have created this brand new job opening for a “Placement Broker” to focus on insurer relationships and insurer risk negotiations. 

This role would suit an induvial with reasonably strong technical insurance knowledge, who enjoys the cut and thrust of doing deals on new and renewal cases, enjoys negotiating with insurers, and who would probably prefer to have minimal involvement in general regulatory administrative tasks.

As a part of this role, you will be liaising closely with the Account Executives on potential new cases, and to some extent renewal cases, and using your negotiating skills and market knowledge to place commercial risks effectively, securing favourable terms and premium levels.

Although mainly desk based, there will be the need to attend client visits with the Account Executives from time to time, and as part of this role, you will be expected to get yourself out and about networking, meeting and developing relationships with underwriters.

This role can be flexible, with hybrid working, depending on where you are based; the office is in Harrogate, but you will not be expected to work from the office every day and will have plenty of freedom to be out seeing insurers, doing deals off site etc.
