Commercial Placement Broker - Leeds City Centre

This is an excellent role, ideally suited to someone who enjoys broking, but doesn’t want to be bogged down with all of the regulatory admin that comes with account handing. In this role, the primary focus will be on placing risks, mainly slightly more complex or unusual commercial risks into Lloyds of London and other speciality markets.

As well as broking, a major part of this role is the development of relationships with your broker partners; keeping in regular contact with decision makers, being constantly on the lookout for new risks to place and to always be dedicated to account development. 

On a day to day to day basis you will be in contact with both broker clients and insurers, presenting risks, negotiating terms, covers and premiums, with the determination to locate the best solution.  Although the role is mainly desk based, there will be opportunities to meet with your broker contacts and to visit insurer partners (Lloyds of London) from time to time.

Ideal applicants will have previous commercial broking or account handing experience, with a good all round knowledge of most classes of commercial insurance. You will be dealing with cases with premium spends anywhere from £3000 to £300,000 per annum, possible higher. You will be a strong communicator, probably with a flair for sales.

This role comes with an excellent basic salary of up to circa £50k dependent on experience, full and comprehensive benefits package and genuine long-term career progression.
