This is a new and exciting opportunity to work for leading Global Insurance.
We are currently with our client who are seeking an experienced Commercial Trading Underwriter to join their UK wide Delegated Authority/Schemes team.
In terms of location, you may work from most of their regional offices dotted throughout the UK which would include Glasgow, Manchester, Leeds, London, and Birmingham.
As a Technical Underwriter in this team you will be responsible for servicing brokers whom have delegated authority for specific commercial insurance schemes. This role involves being the main point of contact for referrals out with the broker’s delegated authority.
Working closely with brokers to assess any referrals out with their delegated authority and having a continuous learning mentality to personal growth, this role requires a proven commercial underwriter that can communicate clearly and succinctly.
This role would suit an experienced Technical Underwriter either from a broker or insurer background that is passionate about developing their career and enjoys nurturing relationships for mutual benefit.
The company offer a hybrid working arrangement where you can work 50% of your time at home and 50% working from one of their regional offices which are located across the UK.
It's an exciting time to join the company’s DAU business. After a period of profitable growth, they’re moving to expand further within the schemes arena and there would therefore be opportunities to personally develop within.
A bit about the job:
- Dealing day to day with referrals that are out with brokers Delegated Authority and responding with a clear rationale
- Supporting Schemes Underwriting Lead and deliver initiatives and/or makes recommendations to improve system performance across the business
- Have a robust knowledge of the scheme governance and regulatory requirements linked to delegation of underwriting authority
- Training, Development & Mentoring of less experienced colleagues across the business to help them to grow
- To continually develop own skills and capability to be the best that you can, and in line with Licence to Grade requirements
What you’ll get for this role:
- Competitive Salary (depending on experience & location) £40 - £50k
- Bonus opportunity – 10% of annual salary
