We have an exciting opportunity which is with a Global insurance company where they are seeking someone to work within their Large Loss Unit as a Senior Claims Technician.
This role could be based from a few of their regional offices which includes Ipswich, Bolton or Birmingham. Hybrid working is supported with 2 days per week required to be in the office.
This would be dealing with high value and complex claims within the team handling Motor, Casualty, Property and Financial Lines claims. You’ll be responsible for ensuring the effective settlement of complex claims by conducting thorough investigations and engaging in negotiations to reach agreed conclusions within established authority levels. This role will require regular travel which could include overnight stays and work outside of normal hours.
Role Profile
- Pro-active management of a portfolio of claims with a potential of £500K+ from notification through to settlement.
- You will be responsible for Major Property losses.
- Delivering excellent customer service whilst maintaining accurate estimating and controlling indemnity spend.
- Lead solicitor/loss adjuster meetings and Large Loss estimating committees.
- Share knowledge and support the development of others in your team and the wider claims community.
- Build excellent working relationships with key stakeholders.
- Provide regular communication with policyholders, their representatives, third parties, underwriting and actuarial colleagues.
Ideal Experience
- Experience of handling high value and complex commercial property, with a settlement authority of at least £500k.
- Knowledge of handling Catastrophic injury claims would be advantageous.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and negotiate.
- Motivational leader who demonstrates empathy and adaptability to drive effective outcomes.
- Strong prioritization and time management skills, with the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
