This is a brand new role to be based in Leeds City Centre and will appeal to commercial brokers / account handlers who want to focus on the “Placement” element of the role, who enjoy building relationships with key insurer partners and negotiating deals with insurers including Lloyds of London.

A major part of this role is to manage your broker panel, building and maintaining quality relationships and to be proactively looking to quote on new cases, negotiating favourable terms and placing risks on cover. Risks will be predominately general commercial, across all sectors and with a slight emphasis towards “difficult to place” risks requiring access to specialist underwriting facilities. Although you will be dealing with most major insurers, there is a slight bias towards speciality Lloyds markets and the opportunity to spend a day at Lloyds of London most months, meeting with key partners.

Ideal applicants will have a good all round knowledge of most classes of commercial insurance from SME through to larger mid-market, be adept at building relationships with key underwriting partners and enjoy the cut and thrust of negotiating deals. It is important that you are comfortable in a sales role and happy to work to targets. Previous use of Acturis system is essential.

This role comes with a negotiable salary dependent on your experience ranging from £35k to £50k + full benefits and plenty of opportunities to develop your longer term career.
