Are you someone who is able to generate and underwrite new business enquiries profitably or working with existing business renewals accurately within the Mid-Market arena, and are looking for a successful career within a growing business full of opportunity?
They are seeking 5 new hires which has arisen due to the need of additional head count, and one internal promotion.
Our insurer client is seeking an experienced Trading Underwriters to work from their city centre office in Manchester, and to join them to be aligned to a portfolio of brokers/customers to proactively develop and profitably grow their commercial book of business within the company.
As a Property & Liability, or Motor Trade, or Motor Fleet Underwriter you will help drive and transform how they partner their broker portfolios, through responsive, flexible, and collaborative relationships. With a strong balance of technical and trading capability, you'll be empowered to make decisions and deliver profitable growth, across new business within the key markets. Relationship management is key as you will Influence key contacts in the marketplace through business development and customer engagement.
Within the role you will:
- Need a consistent track record of underwriting commercial new business or existing business or both
- Have experience in dealing with insurance brokers and or customers
- Showcase excellent interpersonal skills, visiting brokers to develop, build up and strengthen working relationships, as well as ensuring continued visibility in the market
- Have the skills to mentor and develop others
- Be working towards underwriting licence levels as appropriate to your job grade.
Skills and experience they are looking for are:
- Previous Property and Liability underwriting experience or Motor trade & Fleet
- Capability to analyse risks and communicate and present effectively to brokers and/or customers
- Ability to work collaboratively within a large complex organisation
- Good knowledge of the FCA and other relevant regulation and legislation
- Strong commercial business insight to create and deliver business cases

- Competitive Salary (depending on experience) £47Kk to £60K.
