X5 Underwriting Positions - Mid-Market Trading or Senior - P&C - Motor Trade - Motor Fleet - Birmingham

We are currently working on 5 new and exciting underwriting opportunities to work for leading Global Insurance company who have offices located throughout the UK.

They offer a wide range of general insurance products where these roles will focus around Mid Corp arena, providing excellent customer service to its portfolio of intermediaries within the UK.

The Birmingham branch has seen significant growth and due to this it is seeking to bolster its operation with a number of new hires!

There are looking for either a Property & Casualty Trading Underwriters (Or Motor Fleet or Motor Trade) who are seeking to progress their career forward and to join their team. Hybrid working is supported too. They will also consider people looking for Senior Underwriter position and this come with enhanced remuneration and benefits.

Your role will include dealing end to end with brokers and customers whilst collaborating with the team to support both the lead trading underwriter and underwriting leader in delivering financials. This will include writing new business and also looking after a renewal’s portfolio.

You will also be expected to embrace and understand strategy to be an active mobile underwriter, being visible in the broker markets, working professionally and effectively wherever you are located. There will also be opportunities to work towards underwriting licence levels as appropriate to your job grade.

Skills and experience they are looking for:

• Experience within Property & Liability underwriting is essential, or Motor Fleet or Motor Trade
• Excellent communication, listening, time management and negotiating skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a large complex organisation.
• To take underwriting referrals and mentor/coach less experienced colleagues
• ACII qualifications. Good knowledge of the FCA rules and other relevant regulation and legislation
• Ability to analyse risks, communicate and present effectively to brokers and/or customers.

• Competitive Salary dependent on experience from £35K to £66K
• Bonus opportunity - 8% or 10% of annual salary
