Job description

Our client, a highly respected commercial insurance brokerage with numerous Yorkshire based branches is currently looking for a motivated “Sales Development Specialist”. Based in Leeds, and with hybrid working options once settled into the role, you will be reporting to the New Business Manager and working closely with the Account Executive team.

The main purpose of the role is to proactively identify, research, and engage with commercial insurance prospects, supporting the growth of the business through high-quality lead generation- which the AE team will be working to convert. Key responsibilities will include:

Driving targeted generation of new business leads, conducting outbound calls to prospects, qualifying leads and booking appointments for Account Executives, collaborating closely with AEs and attending regular sales and pipeline meetings to align priorities and share insights, using CRM (Acturis) to record all prospecting activity and maintain accurate opportunity data, encouraging and supporting all staff in identifying potential leads for follow-up, subsequently researching and obtaining renewal dates and adding to the pipeline and delivering weekly reports on lead generation activity, including: number of calls made, leads generated, appointments booked, and conversion rates.
